Most men walk in a deep spiritual fog. They do not see how desperate their present situation is. They do not see themselves as condemned criminals waiting on death row. They see themselves as decent people who are acceptable with God — or close enough that he will give them the benefit of the doubt. This is a dangerous view. The Bible says that the world — every individual — is condemned already (John 3:18). Not in danger of condemnation, but condemned already. All that have not believed on Jesus are already condemned.
But some will try to justify themselves. “I haven’t made up my mind yet.” Oh, yes you have. If you are withholding your “yes,” you are saying “no.” And your “no” is just as wicked as the Devil’s.
“I plan to get right some day.” No you don’t. Your only plan is to indulge your sin as long as possible.
“God and I have an understanding.” You are right. He fully understands that you intend to continue in rebellion against his known will as long as possible.
Don’t delay. Man’s only hope is to surrender TODAY. So long as men do not give a whole-hearted “yes” to Jesus’ gospel call to believe on Him and follow Him, they are yet dead in their sins and unbelief. They are condemned criminals on eternal-punishment row.
